Never heard of it. Would you like to try a new browser instead? Take a look at FireFox (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/)... built-in popup stopper. ;)

Actually, if you like IE, then try MyIE2 (http://www.myie2.com). I'm currently using this and I love it! :D

I'm still an IE fan and the Google toolbar works great for me.
For IE, you have two options (good ones) download google's toolbar (free) or switch to mozilla.

You could also do as I do, disable Active Scripting. Safer browsing and not a single popup.
Some pages and links such as Microsoft Windows Update will not run unless it's enabled. I enable it only when I abosolutely need to, or just switch to my Opera browser instead.
Thats true too, but it censors alot of stuff.

No, not censor.
It just stops script from running on your system. A lot of these scripts are unsafe and can harm your system and they run without your knowledge or control. A lot of them are annoying, such as the ones used in popups.
It just gives you better control over what scripts are allowed to run on your system. Occasionally I may click on a pulldown on a web site and it doesn't work because it's scripted but personally I'm willing to make that sacrifice for safer browsing as to whether or not I enable it for that instance.
Or as you pointed out, use another browser, my choice is Opera over Mozilla because the tabbed browsing works better. I use IE, Opera and Mozilla, in that order. I'm not that crazy about third party applications and plug-ins like the Google Toolbar, I already have a capable multi-threaded Internet search tool.

Maybe so.....
But I don't care to have another useless toolbar added to my browser. Plus I'm not fond of third party applications and add-ins.
I feel more secure with the added protection from not allowing Active Scripting.

The Google toolbar is far from useless. Besides from being a great pop-up blocker, it's actually a very handy tool for searching the web and is highly configureable to do as many or as few tasks that you care to do.

For me it's absolutely useless.
I already use Copernic Agent Professional for all my searches.
It's a multi-threaded search tool that simultaneously harnesses the power of up to 150 search engines, including Google, and displays the results in order of relevance. It then sorts through the links in the results and automatically discards any dead links. It can be integrated into Windows shell as well as Office and Internet Explorer.
So why would I limit myself to only one search engine at a time?
For me it would be an absolute waste. More like dead wood added to my browser.
