I made a long post about this last night but it was erased before I could read it lol. Well I'm done over there, I won't be going back but I did want to say one last thing.

Its only my opinion, but I feel that the few people that have decided to revive the cdrg are taking a crap on hoss, the mods, me, and anyone else who has made sacrifices over the last few days. Without the original community that place is nothing more than a website.

I just think that people need to sit back and think about what it means to have honour and respect. Charles ditched us a long time ago and there has been alot of blood, sweat, and tears over the last few days in order to ensure that the community lives on.

And to post the same question on both sites is disrespectful to the people who are trying to answer the question as they don't know if its already been answered or not.

Like the man said above, at the end of the day, people are free to do whatever they want. But to support Charles and his www, to me, it seems very selfish and disrespectful to the REAL cdrg which has finally found a good home here.

I'd hate to know your definition of not recovering then. I see my post was deleted though. Amazing how a semi-well thought out post can get deleted while inane ones are left.

Yep, well run and recovering well.

I think konga123 (http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/member.php?action=getinfo&userid=80050) is trying to revive it really badly. :bawling: What is his intention?

konga123
03-20-2004, 10:36 PM
hey gossipers, lol

How-Long my intension is simply to not let a large forum die, there's no need for it - especially now that this place is now a completely independent forum standing on it's own. I will be spending an equal amount of time here do not worry, I just think right that forum needs a little extra attention to keep it alive :)

I know CDRG is a large forum but did you see what the webmaster did to all of us and all the post? CDRG doesn't deserve the respect to stand alive anymore.

03-21-2004, 12:07 AM
well How-Long, what of the newbies? whom barely managed to find themselves a forum at all? to find it desserted and of no help, what do they deserve?

If you told me that the forum would only be around for 12 months more I would stay. Obviously we see what a forum is differently. I see a forum as a place to help people, contrary to the belief which seems to be going around, there isn't any physical distance between the 2 forums on the internet, therefore I don't need to take a cab between the 2. I don't understand why there is such a hatred for the forum, the management had problems, not the forum, or the newbies who seek help.

What of them? The have a site here where they'll never have to worry about piss poor management from an absentee owner. You'd be more helpful on a board that has order rather than chaos and a board that communicates with it's members.

Do what you want there m8, makes no difference to anyone here and I hope you enjoy your stay there.

I'm going to close this thread now as this is really just getting old and tiresome. We have members here that understand what's going on and are looking ahead rather than behind. We've all learned from the past and haven't forgotten. Time to move on now. If any of the Admin. here would like this opened up again, please so so.

- Merc.

No Merc, I'm leaving this closed but here's a last word:

DVDROM-guide does not hold itself to be an exclusive forum that denies the existance of other forums out there. Many members here have also found homes at other forums and that is their business.
If anyone here wants to spend time at the old and busted place then it is up to them but you should be aware of what you are supporting.
Charles has totally ignored that forum for over 2 years, never stopping buy to check how things were going. As a result the place stagnated, the Mods were unable to update the place or fix things when they went wrong. The database would get corrupted and Charles didn't care.

The Mods moved here so we could operate a community that supported it's members. We have a team here that gives their time freely to maintain and develope this place for the member's benefit.

The old CDRG is dead to me, I gave it more hours than I can count and there's only so much beating your head against the wall that I can take.
Supporting DVDROM-Guide gives the Mods here a little thanks for all the hard work they have put in. The average member would be surprised to find out the total combined time the Mod team puts in to this place each week.
