Is your copy of CDRwin cracked? That would account for it but a few more details would help, like XP or make of CDwriter

Your post is a little confusing, but we'll help as much as possible. As you've tried to rip it first I'm assuming you are only using 1 cdrom. If you're using cdrwin mate, you first record it to your h/d (cdrwin will automatically create the .bin file) to record to disc just load the .bin files up making sure the CD+G option is ticked. Select 4x speed until you're sure you know what you're doing and whether or not you're burner can handle higher speeds.

have been given a disc when opened has a cdg file and a wma filewma files are usually a different bit rate to mp3 files
this is where your problem lies
make sure when you convert from wma to mp3 that the mp3 is 128 kbps chances are it higher or lower :)

thanx for the info guys sorry if i sounded confusing i hope this helps . My cd rewriter is a plextor 522452A i have copied the disc to hard drive ,i then converted the wma files into mp3 files using oss audio convertor pro ,then i put the mp3 files and the cdg files into the same folder,i then opened up the mp3+g toolz and clicked on mp3+g files to bin ,after doing all that i then opened cdrwin, ticked the cd+g box and loaded the bin files .After a short while my disc was ready to play in my karaoke player but like i mentioned earlier it's not right graphics are just coloured backgrounds and the music is too fast .Does anyone know a better programme for converting wma files ? thanx.

How did they get to wma files in the first place mate? that's not the correct format. when converting from CD+G it should be to mp3+G. I've never came across this before, sorry I can't help with that. anybody else?.......Holler?

Bit Rate is not your problem, sampling rate is... Open the audio file with an audio editor (like Nero), and resave the file. The sampling rate must be at 44.1 khz (regular audio CD). If you check the file's settings, you may find that the freq is at a much lower value, say 22 khz (could be mp3 Pro). When you play the lower value at the higher speed, you get chipmunks. Kinda like an LP played at 45 RPM!

A software player like winamp does not care what the sampling rate is... it will play the file as it comes, that is why the file will seem fine.

In the end, you are doing things correctly. This problem will only show up after converting or burning to disk.
