computer was working fine the other day, byt when i came to turn it on it just didn't power. tried everything and in the end i've had to swap the motherboard for an old sis a7s333. fortunately xp has not decided to stop working because of it, but the max the processor will run at is 1.5gig ish and its an xp2600 so not happy with that.

my question is, although that m/board is obviously dead, i obviously can't keep swapping motherboards around cause that will just cause me problems. the motherboard that has died is an nforce2 board, an msi k7n2 delta. Will it matter if i put any other nforce 2 board back on as it will prob use the same chipset drivers, or should i go for another msi k7n2 delta for compatibility.

cheers for any suggestions

really difficult to know. theoretically the problems with changing mobo's are limites to the chipsets used on the boards, but it is impossible to say definitively that it will work, just because the chipset is the same.

Backup now and do a clean install when you get the new motherboard
