Apart from the XDAII, are there many mobile phones that are compatible with Outlook?
I'm not looking for a PDA like the XDAII just a 1/2 decent mobile that isn't going to cost me the earth.
Thanks in advance for any help guys.
Cheers
Glenn

depends what you mean by compatible with outlook really.
There are many phones that will sync the calendar etc with outlook, Nokia's for example using nokia data suite.

I am primarily after it so that I can download my contacts from Outlook on my PC onto the phone and then sync them when I change details.

pretty sure most "good" phones will do that nowadays.
in fact looking at Nokia's site, even budget models like the 8310 etc will do this using infrared/bluetooth etc depending on the phone.

yup agree with Tierra, even my archaic banana phone 7110 (matrix phone my @r$€) allowed me to synch phone contacts with out look.
Pretty sure Sony erricsson also do it
Been able to do contact synching with 7110 (no emails), 6310i (phone & email), 6600 (even poitless bit of the contacts- website, favourite colour, star sign,....)
Only problem is egtting the phone to synch- for future proofing i'd suggest you get an IR cable as opposed to a cable which more than likely will be limited to that phone model and when you upgrade your phone you'll have to buy a new cable. With IR it should work with different manufacturers and for newer phones. I would say Bluetooth, but Nokia's bluetooth sucks big time :( - always have to delete and restablish the parntership between pc and phone- frind brough his Sony Ericsson over synched first time no probs.

Thanks for the info guys. Just prooves how long it's been since I looked at phones, I thought this would've been toward the top end of the market!
Good news for me, it means I won't have to spend so much!
Thanks for the advice on IR, I know what you mean. I've got that many cables from different gadgets I'm tripping over them!!
Thanks guys
Glenn

This (http://www.ma620.com/) is probably the best usb->IR device on the market.
It comes with generic software but works fine with the nokia pc suite too :)
its the one that the gets sold most on the gsm section of the bst-secure forums- they may do it cheaper, so maybe ask over there if you are member

the one thing I have found with my usb - ir solution is that it hates XP. Even though the drivers are fine, it always disconnects as soon as it is connected.
on a win2k PC, it works fine everytime.

I still haven't upgraded to sp2, got this thesis to submit next week and am terrified the thing will just stop working
both laptop and desktop are sitting there periodically telling me "updates are ready for your computer click here to install"- its been about a week and a half now- better not decide to install itself :uhwell:
had a bit of an issue with the MA620's driver not being digitally signed by m$ but thats like almost every usb device i have at home  only thing is if it loses connection it generates this annoying whirring noise.
