I would say turn off XP burning software its garbage and it causes more problems. I found XP burning software doesn't play well with others. You might have to reinstall ASPI drivers after you turn of XP burning soft ware. Try that and let us know.

I agree.
Your problem might also be software related. Try another burnware to erase the CD.
Burnatonce (http://www.burnatonce.com/) is free.

How do you turn off xp burning softwear ?
1. Open Control Panel
2. Administrative Tools
3. Services
4. Look for "IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service" under name (I suggest clicking on the "Name" bar to organize it in chronological order first)
5. Right click, go to Properties
6. In the "Startup Type:", select Disabled
7. Apply and close, no need for reboot.
