Network with SmatXX problem

Tried to connect the PC to my Xbox last night and failed miserably! I’ve got the PC connected to the Xbox via a Xover Cable. Think the problem might be something to do with my Xbox chip – I’ve got a SmatXX chip, when I boot the machine I have the option of booting into several bios’s and a settings option, within this option I can set the IP address etc. I can also boot into Evox. And set the IP etc. there, do I need to set up both or just one? I’m connected via a nic card.

Also, I tried a couple of times to set the network up, the second time I tried no lights came on the PC or Xbox Network card? Is this a hardware fault or have I messed things up big time!

i found it simply to do and im useless on computers lol
