how to delete a 2nd hdd that had xp on it?

just got a new pc and im using my old hdd as a 2nd. i cant delete windows folders and it wont let me reformatt. anyone know how to wipe this to use as a clean 2nd drive?

how are you trying to reformat and what happens when you do. in effect you are saying windows on both hard drives etc. what hard drive are you booting off.

im booting off the c: and want to wipe clean f: the f: had xp on it but i manually deleted all files i could, now i cant delete whats left, tried in dos and just right click format! wont do it?

what happens when you do - errors?

have you tried formatting from DOS with just this hard drive connected and not the c drive
