Try out a few free ones and see what you think ..... AVG & Avast are among the most popular and both do the job as well as the commercial offerings.

My first choice would always be AVG from www.grisoft.com (http://www.grisoft.com/)

Yup, I used norton for a few years but finally got fed up with its slow motion performance and moved over to AVG recently, it does the job for me. Frankly, if you have a decent firewall and use your pc in an informed manner then you shouldn't have to worry, I'm still waiting for my first virus.

For free products, I do like AVG very much. I guess I am in the minority in saying I like Symantec. I have their corporate version on my laptop and am very happy with it... However, AVG is an excellent product!
I use NAV to, and am completely satisfied with it, though as everyone is talking about AVG I'll have to give it a go.

Ken, how come you've flushed your p?
As above, I never had a serious problem with Norton, just a couple of gripes, but I find AVG does the same job with less fuss, and its free!
