I use Nero and just do COPY. Nero came with my 105. Anyways, Alcohol,NERO,RECORDMAX. All do the trick.

Yup, pretty much any burning program will do the job, just find the one that works best for you.

I use Record Now Max, this is fairly easy to use and has proved reliable.

DD is for encoded dvd flicks & ps2 games are neither but it does work.

Yet another variation ...
I use Disc Juggler for PS2, data, movies and just about everything else. "Create DVD Image" and when it's done, "Burn DVD Image" Easy. :)

I prefer Recordnow Max myself but there is nothing wrong with using DVD Decrypter. The reason why I don't use it is that DVD Decrypter only burns DVDs and Recordnow Max burns CDs and DVDs.

I use Nero & RNM because RNM reads GI files. Between them they can do it all.

RecordNow Max is one of the nicest burning programs available I've found. Very versatile for many different types of burning.

I take it you haven't had much luck with Nero? Neither have I. I won't call it crap though as so many people use it without having any problems. I definitely prefer RNM over Nero but that is just my personal preference since Nero and I have a bad history together.

There is nothing wrong with Primo. . . .provided you have an older burner.

OK, since we are all posting our favourite programs...i recommend using RecordNow Max. It is the most stable program (my opinion), and you can copy both your CD and DVD based games. Its even good for PC and PSOne games AND I even copied selfbooting Dreamcast games with it (mmmmmm, dreamcast).

If you have the time, I would suggest using InterVideo DVD Copy. Never seen such great quality.

Umm we are talking about PS2 games here and not movies. ;) Last time I checked there was no variance in the graphics of a game from program to program. :D

anybody ever tried that games x copy software from 321 studios? I heard it made perfect copies of your pc and console games.

I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. Why bother when Nero and Recordnow Max will do the same job with out screwing with your ripping speeds/burn settings like 321 software can.

Decrypter is free and it works fine.
Alcohol has to be the best IMO, get the trial. :)

Hey I a newbie... how can you tell if the game is CD based or DVD based?
Jesterrace
04-23-2004, 02:51 PM
Two easy ways. 1. Take a look at the original case and see if it says CDROM or DVD-ROM. 2. Look at the back of the original disc, if it has the purplish/blue color then it is CD Based, anything else is DVD Based.

I have tried both Nero and DVD Decryptor and was unsuccesful with each of them. I find that Record Now DX (which is identical to Max) is the best burning program for me. Heres a website that gives you step by step instructions on most of the burning programs out there. It's great for when your just starting out. http://www.mjpaul.freeserve.co.uk/home.htm
