This place seems like it is dying. Everything started to go wrong after the split. I think we need to liven up this forum with better news and guides. Has anyone heard of the new PS2 :OS? you should realy check it out. The first version of it was released last week and its great and you can install it using hdloader making it much easier to manage ps2 files on your memory card cdrom or hdd. you can boot .elf files from it easily and more. i was shocked to see that news of this software had not hit this site yet

I saw it but didnt seem to excite me too much since I have a chip I dont really save to the HD its just a cool little bonus feature for me personally. The xbox is a lot smoother doing this sort of thing
But this is just my opinion

Yup, as above, it has a few nifty features but not enough to really make it an outstanding OS. The whole HDDloader, ect. is cool and all but if you already have a modchip it kind of loses some of it's value.
It's a Nice Gesture for HD loader in general for PS2 since PS2 laser aren't that strong to being with espeically people who uses backups a lot on their PS2's and one's who use Generic Discs who are killing the laser even faster so HD loader is a Great Innovation..But the OS for PS2 is in my opinion not that interesting like it is on Xbox..
The Possibility on Xbox is somewhat mind boggling..Emu, Region DVD Free Playback, FTP, Media player and etc..

Its not that much exciting and new with the ps2 at the moment though most all the new modchips will boot any game and now there are 2 chips (one soon to be released) that can autoboot any type of disk and since you can load games on the HD its not too much more that people can get excited about right now the big thing with chips are the reduced wire count now but I dont turn many many flips like I used to.

Hdloader isn't available anymore & the new real cute PS2 won't have HD support. I gave up on HDloader, it just wasn't worth the time. Also, it was the first version & they are never going to update it. Maybe we should change to hdadvance.
I think the forum is doing just fine. I don't think we need that time limit between posting messages however.
