Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. I have just installed SpywareBlaster 3.2 into my computer and when I enable all protection, the database takes like 60 seconds to complete. I have spywareblaster on my other computers and it takes like 3-4 seconds to enable all protection.

Does anyone know why this is happening? BTW, I tried to unistall the program and download it from a different mirror site - with the same result

What's On My System:

Win Xp Pro SP1
Office XP
Kaspersky AV
ZoneAlarm Pro
Ad-Aware SE

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've heard that a few people have been having this problem with SpywareBlaster 3.2. They believe it has to be some sort of software conflict however they haven't been able to narrow it down at all. Some people at the wilderssecurity forum have stated it's been taking them up to 9 minutes to load the database. The threads are located HERE (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=44926&highlight=spywareblaster+slow) and HERE (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=29749).

Update:

I got spywareblaster working 'normally' again. The fix was kind of a round about solution.

Steps:

First I uninstalled Kaspersky's and I noticed that spywareblaster (SWB) improved slightly.

Next I uninstalled SWB and downloaded a new set-up version from downloads.com.

Restarted computer.

Installed SWB and it was now acting 'normally'

Tried to reinstall Kaspersky's but now everything very very slow.

Uninstalled Kaspersky's and SWB again back to 'normal'.

Switched antivirus programs and now everything is OK.

Whew! What a pain in the you know where.

Once again, thanks for everyone's help.

So glad to hear that you've got it sorted. However it might be a good idea to register and post at the wilderssecurity forum so to let everyone else know the solution to your specific problem. I don't mean to send you away, it's just that we're not exactly experts on some things. We're here to help and just want everyone to find the solution to their problem.
