I cant get rid of this virus

Windows keeps giving me this pop up box

I scanned with AVG and AVG did not find any virus, I did this a number of times, it is up to date with the latest deffinitions, I even scanned it with Housecall Online Anti-Virus scan and that did not pick it up. Any idea what it is and how I can remove it?

But system restore is something I tend to use a lot since my Computer is plain crap, why would system restore be a virus?

it isn't a virus as such, but if you read the error, the virus is held on a file that is part of the restore, so you have to turn it off to fix the problem, then turn it back on.

I tried to disable system restore and I disabled it on all drives and now I get

That's ok, just click on OK.

It is just Windows "holding your hand". After you click OK, it will remove all the System Restore Files, including the one containing the Trojan.

Just remember to switch System Restore on again afterwards. Then if you do a fresh scan with AVG, the Trojan will be gone.

Ok cheers, managed to turn it off and scanned with AVG still did not pick it up, I hope it is gone.

Make sure you turn you Restore back on afterward.
