got a new cpu about a month ago 3200+ ome from overclockers uk but they
will only take back if it packs up within 28 days can i send it back to manufactures.? i have not been in contact with overclockers yet..

I think you can send it back to manufacturers. Prior to that it is advisable to establish a contact with OverClockers for sure. It's better to ask the seller about their policy/ understanding(s) with the manufacturing company.

amd should replace it if its past the retailers warranty. I believe amd has a 3 year warranty on them....not 100% positive.

If you bought an OEM CPU, I think you only had the warranty from the vendor. However, if you bought a retail CPU, you'd have 3yr-warranty from AMD.

ok been in touch with overclockers.uk (email) . hats off to them they replied very quickly
and sent me a rma number.dont know what killed it. got heatsink and fan from overclockers they said was ok to use with 3200+. i have not tried to overclock. dont think you can anyway.? what do you think could have killed it. mobo board /psu.???

It's very difficult to tell from a distance and/ or before witnessing such faulty piece. Could be anything usually ranging from temperature, static, PSU, wrong connections... anything m8!

yep or cracked the core while fitting the heatsink on....most likely cause.

BUT ITS BEEN RUNNING OK FOR A MONTH .? just died over night didn't have any programs running.?

It's all speculation mate, don't worry. You have the CPU in your hands, not us, so it's difficult to be precise.
Admittedly I don't think it's a cracked core. As you say, it was running fine for a week. A cracked core from heatsink fitting would normally kill it straight away (although you can actually get away with small chips).
