Just bought myself an Epson R200. SVP (Blank disc shop) were doing them at £89...its a great job...I've been printing on my CDs and DVDs all week...has seperate ink cartridges as well....great value AND great quality.

Oh sorry meant to say you can get cartridges for about £4.50 or a full set on Ebay for about £22....cheap as chips.

Thats what i was looking at. £22 for full colour then. Not bad and do they last long then as i be wanting to print dvd covers and stuff.

Oh and also, i have heard that some printers dont like the cheap ink. I used the cheap ink on mine but what about this model with like 5 different inks and stuff. Are the 3rd party ink still good to use and safe

Im an epson man through and through but i have to say if you want a printer that does discs get the canon i865 unless you can pick up a secondhand epson photo 900 (£6 an ink change) the R200/300 cost over £20 per ink change, the canons half that and the photo 900 is even cheaper again.

I have an Epson Photo 900 and it prints great on paper and on printable CD?DVDR media.. Plus like geobon stated the generic ink is dirt cheap..

So try and the get the 900 as its good, prints on dvds and its cheap on the ink.

If not get the R200 or R300

Whats the difference, is it worth paying that extra money

Also, does the ink last on them as they expensive to buy, i hope they last a bit for printing covers.

Do a search on Ebay for Epson R200....simple...

Think your talking at least £20 per set, "should have got the cannon" yeah the R200 is cheaper but bear in mind the price you'll have to pay per ink change. Iv'e got the photo 900 and i got an R300 to replace it and at £24 for an ink change i didn't have it long as every ink change costs £18 extra, to expensive for me, but if you don't print very much (i do) then im sure you'll be happy with the R200.

I love my Stylus 960. Prints awesome pics and cd/dvd labels. the ink refills cost me $4 each for the generic.

Well, if you're were going for the best, they have an R800. Does this line print close to the center hole of the cd? I have labels that go really close to the center hole & the manufacturer site mentions nothing of this..

My R300 can print right to the center as well. All you need are the cdr's/dvdr's that have the full surface of the label that's able to be printed on.

They can all print to the center, But out of curiousity why are you using labels? surely that defeats the purpose of having a disc printer.

Good point Geobon, the Epson comes with fairly good software that allows you to determine the inner and outer radius of the printed image.BTW, SVP have great deals on printables....got 25 bulkpaq 4 speed printables for under a tenner and 100 CD printables for £16...also bought a full set of refills for my Epson from them as well...works out about £4.50 a cartridge...they are offering 99p shipping on orders over £30 if you are in the buyers club (free to join) as well this weekend.

I'm using labels because I bought them & have them before I thought about getting a cd printer. So, not to use them would be letting them go to waste.

Also, I don't know 'bout the rest of you lot, but there are times when in a trade or buy from someone at BST they don't have printables to trade/sell and you have to use a label on your disc(s).
