That's the only way I know how and I have that chip as well. The good thing though about doing that is you don't have to hold the power button as long the next time as it'll boot directly to the game.

You should be able to do "In Game Reset" just fine with Alladins. If you can't that means you have an older copy of the chip and you need to reflash the bios. I prefer to use the xecutor 4981 bios because you can use XBtool_Color_BIOS_Preset_Maker to make cool colors on the boot screen.
Alternately you can look for the other bios's that have the eject hack where the xbox resets each time you eject. But when using XBMC its a pain to switch discs if it resets every time.
I always reflash alladins after installing them even though the newer ones come with IGR.

The newer alladin chips will have a small Evo X picture on the boot screen.

merc, one more question.since i changed my chip, the games boot right to the xbox logo and with my xecutor chip it would boot to evox first.i can't even get to evox now.when i boot the xbox without a game,it goes to the ms dash.what could the problem be?

It shouldn't boot to the MS dash w/o a game in the tray but to whatever dash you've installed on the bios (ie. Ava or Evox, what-have-you). That's if you're depressing the power button long enough to enable the Aladdin chip? If you're not, then it won't load enable the chip and then will go straight to the MS dashboard instead (thus making your chip disabled so you can go on Xbox Live). I never installed my chip so I'm afraid I can't properly answer this one. Hopefully someone that had experience in fitting chips and more specifically this chip can answer your question m8.

Why did you put a new chip in? Use a boot disc and ftp your box there should be a evoxdash.xbe and evox.ini are they there?

i put the aladdin in because the xecutor went bad.i have never attempted to ftp my xbox so i couldn't tell you if the files are there.i know that evox is installed because the xecutor booted up from there.do i need to go through a router to ftp or can i use my laptop to get directly into the xbox?it has a nic card installed.

Yes, just use a crossover cable and you can hook up to it without a router.
