External USB HD encloure prob...

Just fitted a 160gig HD, and connected it to the computer via usb, however no drive is appearing in 'my computer'. I have previoulsy only used the enclosure to hold cd drives

Any ideas guys?

is the drive formatted?
what os?

hazarding a guess of no and XP, then go to disk management, in computer management and then set the drive up there.

have done this before so should be no problems.

no i haven't done anything to the drive, just came through the post new.
I'm using xp on my os HD.
I've just installed it into my computer through standard IDE now, and its still not appearing in 'my computer'...
Where do i find disc management?
