does ps2(no mod) play copy dvdr?

IF u have a regular ps2( no modchip) does it play copy dvdr movies and all kind of different region format.

An unmodded PS2 will play DVD-R movies without a hitch (provided you are using good quality media, as the PS2 lasers can be really picky). However, an unmodded PS2 isn't going to play any region format. It will play region free discs (DVD-R movies) and the region code for which your PS2 was made (ie USA PS2s=Region 1). It will not play PAL format movies on an unmodded american machine (or vice-versa), if that is what you are looking for.

I have an unmodded ps2(well its a flip top)and I cant play dvdr backup movies on mine.I use mostly ritek media and have also tried memorex.Always says disc read error or cant read disc or something.They play fine in my dvd player and computer so I know its not the discs.I was under the impression that you couldnt play them unless you have a chip installed.Hmmm...

as said, it could be the region or the ps2 being picky
