help!!, installed samsung dvd rom and things arnt so good.

i upgraded from my old phillips(which played reall games flawlessly, but had problems with some backups). piderman 2 always froze on it also.

now i put in the modified samsung and spiderman 2 still freezes, i still get dirty disc erros on nija gaiden the games are 4x ridatatas).

and most annoyingly eaverytime i eject a cd it basically locks out system, it give sthat cant recognize disc message whenever i eject cd, and i can do nothing on xbox till i put new games in or restart.

what could be te problem? why am i still getting dirty disc errors?, what with cant recongnize disc error?its asamsung man =(


on aside note, the ide cable was replaced cause other got melted,it barely reaches over to ardrive, but its secure.

id bet that the ide cable is stretched and and maybe this is freezing your xbox

as for some games freezing.

set the clock, or more importantly set the year to 2004, everytime you unplug the console from the mains for anything longer than say and hour or 2 it resets the time to default, and because of this some games wont work (spiderman 2 is one of them, it freezes on a load screen, or main menu, cant remember now), it because of the xboxs save game structure, anyways, dirty disc errors hmm, not sure, have you checked the disks on another xbox? that would rule the disk error out.
