What do i need to be able to play vcds on my xbox?

What do i need to be able to play vcds/svcds on my modded xbox?

Its chipped with a xecuter 2 and has xbox media player on but i can't get it to play any vcds/svcds.

Do i need a samsung dvdrom drive?

Simple answer is u 'cant m8!

...U need to re-encode them back to dvd/mpeg2/divx standard to get them to play.

Use vcdgear to change to an .mpeg file.

What drive do you have? Only the samsung drive can read cd-r media, so if you are like almost everyone else and have a thompson or phillips drive you should try the vcd on cdrw and see if it can read it.

Well, its the worst of the 3, but you can use that one it should play dvdr ok, but not sure about anything else.

ok wait- xbmc will auto load vcd and svcd- your drive may prohibit you playing it on cd but there is a work around if you have network connection to your pc (although it isn't perfect)- and it isn't ftp-ing the files to the xbox- its neater than that ;)

Or you could use the prog 'Relax' to stream them across from your Pc I guess - I use it for divx all the time with XBMP
