V7 Matrix Install

Ive installed a matrix chip on a v7 ps2, when i try to boot up ps2 dvd and dvdr it wont work, when i try to play movie dvd it works and so do audio cds and ps2 cds.

when i disable the chip, everything works the way it used to,

anyone got any ideas whats gone wrong

Sounds like you may have crossed the Bios points mate. Same thing happens on a Messiah2 install if you mess them up. Double check those points that you've got them going to the correct legs.

hi m8, ive double checked the bios and used two different diagrams, it appears to be ok, ive also double checked the other wires and checked all the continuities between pin to pin and pin to leg on the actual matrix chip. still wont boot with the chip, its perfect with the matrix 2 disabled

any other suggestions

when you solder the bios pins wrong it normally gives you a black screen check your dvd/cd controller pins on the underside of the board
