Are you using compatible carts?
the carts are registered as useable m8, and yeah all three are compats

Has this just started to happen? Or has it started to happen after a format/re-istall etc?
Need some more info.

SeanJust a thought, but maybe you need to replace the entire print head? I seem to remember something like this happening with my printer awhile back and just replacing the ink cartridge wasn't enough.
i havent used it for a while, and i went to print a doc and it didnt work. so i got some new carts and they didnt work, got some different ones and they didnt print either :(
its only a year old or not even that yet

I had an old 880 a few years back and this happened to me. I`d had the printer for 12 months approximately and then the bugger up and died on me just like this SJ. After trying all the various methods people had suggested I just ended up binning the thing and buying a new one. Not really an answer to help you I know but maybe replacing the entire print head as Xcalibur suggests is the answer .... god knows how much that`ll cost mind.
There is a service tool for epson printers somewhere on the net and although I can`t recall the name or the URL of the program (some help I am eh) I`m sure a search of the the old CDRG or BST may yield you some results.

Sean, mail me at mastermind2k1@hotmail.com for the program.
It's very difficult to 'repair' the print head once it is blocked. Trust me! :)

Also Unplug from the socket while Printer is ON, count to 10 n plug it back in...Or just pull plug out from back of Printer....If that don't work, Un-Install n re-Install Drivers......

Try "moistening" the printhead with nail varnish remover (acetone) and a cotton bud to soften the dried ink, dont soak it!.
This is a desparate measure only use it if you can afford to lose the printhead.
i was gonna do this intially but i was told not too - as i know nail varnish remover removes permenant ink!
i will try it what have i got to loose! bloody things outta warranty now ne way
u know wen i do it - do i dabble the inside of the head where u insert the carts? or so i need to take the head off like out of the printer
cheers

Normally the bit that the carts touch is kept damp by the ink it's the business end you will have to work on, unless it has been left with empty carts in whch case it will be dry both "ends".
Depends how much of the head you can access effectively without stripping it down.
Nail varnish remover will take paint off too! and also any protective coating the internals of the head has if you are too liberal with it.
