not content with a new house, she now wants karaoke!

so heres the deal, bearing in mind i have no experience of karaoke stuff at all i need some advice!

1. which karaoke machine to buy?
ideally i would like one that plugs into the dvd player so i can play through the tv.

2. bear in mind that i either want to d/l tracks or buy a sunfly or other collection on dvd and burn to either cd or dvd, what am i looking at? do i need to burn to cd or is dvd ok?

3. i have a pioneer 107 which i presume doesnt burn cd+g tracks (thats presuming thats what ill be using?!) i have a hewlett packard 9300 cd writer sitting on the shelf, will that burn cd+g?

as you can tell i havent got a clue so any help you can give me (as simply as possible!) would be invaluable!

oh, i have till friday to sort it all out! bonus!

cheers for looking in,h.

It would be much less expensive and less time consuming to get a good divorce lawyer. You have a PC so start there and use Winamp with the cdg plug-in, hopefully output to your tv and hi-fi? The 107 will write discs, no problem and read them using the right software, using Audiograbber to grab the tracks compilations are a doddle. You could use some of the compatible dvd players to play cdg discs ( Sunfly for example) I use a compacks for this. Look in the Argos catalogue to see what I mean. Try karaokeplayground.co.uk for the help pages for the technical stuff and read the threads on here too. Trust me, get the lawyer, lol. Thats just for starters.
