Don't get Comp-USA brand dvd-r's for use with xbox. They skip. Sometimes during gameplay it'll hickup or the sound will skip. I've had this with movie too. Before everyone flames - I know everyone is probably using RiTek's. Thats what I normally use. But I just wanted to post this to let people know that might get tempted by a sale localy. THats what happened to me.
Can't complain to much, didn't hardly pay anything for them.
Get what you pay for I guess.

I think its a good idea, the only thing is you have to be drive specfic really- just got a NEC burner and some +RW (Verb's MCC002) gonna do a multigame tonight and see what happens, will post results here
My drive's a Samsung by the way, had no problems with various brands of G04 dye, and Princo's (Datwrite yellows & ICE white's) though seek/load times are noticably better with Ritek's
*edit* Just tried these 4x DVD+RW's out too- changed the booktype to DVD-rom and burned at 4x and it launched a charm

for reference I used a pioneer drive for this. I guess I could test them on my sammy drive as well

What media you can use depends on what writer you have. Pioneer makes a lot of them, shucks, how about that new 108 coming out?

CompUSA generally use Princo or Optodisc dyes. When they are on special they aren't to bad but most of the time they are just overpriced Princo or Optodisc media. I have actually paid less for my 4x Riteks at times than people are paying for 1x CompUSA discs. All in All a crappy deal (like most store brand media). ;)

Yep. Not right that the big box stores charge what they do to the average consumer that doesn't know any better. Pisses me off to no end. :furious:

Hope this isn't against a rule or anything, I looked for a deals forum but couldn't find one. But check this out for good deal on Ri-Tek
Note the free shipping on both and the 10.00 rebate on the spindle of 100
