I have ripped loads of dvds and stuff
I have started to use dvd shrink but sometimes when i keep the menu it is jirky when i play it on the dvd dispite i said not to loose any quality on it.
But i do the same thing on another dvd and works fine and the menu is good
What ama doing wrong or is there any other program that is good that lets me keep the menu. I dont mind loosing the extras, but want the menu
Cheers

It depends on the original size of the disc. If your menu quality suffers, then your movie quality probably isn't to bad. You can't really keep everything on some disks, just because they are so big. I think the menu's run from 400mb to 1 gig, so if you want to keep the movie and the menu you are bound to lose quality in one or the other.

It really depends on the movie. I have seen some movies (ie Indiana Jones Trilogy) that have menus well over 1GB (all sorts of animation in the menu).

Majority of the films menus arnt that big so wont effect the movie, but what other program apart form dvdshrink is there that keeps the menu for u or lets u have the options of removing features

Give DVD2One a try, although I doubt you'll find it any better quality than DVD Shrink.
I cut my teeth on DVD2one and still use it alongside DVD Shrink, depending on what I'm processing.
Having said that, the latest additions to DVD Shrink, make it a much more versatile proggy and I'm tending to use it more these days.
If you are after quality and prepared to spend a bit more time, what about the new "one click" utility for CCE. It's only a beta, but might be worth checking out.

They came out with a one click for CCE? Hmm, methinks I need to have a closer look at this proggie. Might come in handy for a few films.

Well it's only a beta at the moment, but it is from a good stable (jdobbs) over at Doom9.
It's called DVD ReBuilder, or DVD-RB for short and this is a quote by jdobbs :
1. Yes. It is a one-click solution for use with CCE.
2. No. It doesn't need an authoring package. It reauthors within the package.
3. Yes. It works with ReJig if you want to work really fast.
4. No. It isn't complete -- but it's getting close.
5. Yes. You can really see the CCE quality difference!
I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but it certainly looks as though it will be good, when he releases it as a final version. He does stress that it does have issues at present, but watch this space ;)
