View Full Version : whats the best way to solder to the small pins on chip ?

whats the best way to solder to points, b,c,d,g,h,i
they seem very tiny and dont want to brigde the pins,

im useing a small tipped iron, but these pins are so small,
any tips? or alternative points?
the motherboard is v3

Definitely use flux as it will help keep the solder from bridging between pins. I usually just put a small amount of solder on the bare pin, then set the wire on top of the pin and touch the iron to the top of the wire and the solder should melt into the wire to make a good connection.

Also another thing to watch out for is after you solder it that the wires don't move much or break off. Most people use electrical tape or better yet hot glue to keep the wires in place.

they seem impossible? without bridgeing pins?

use a razor blade or stanley blade in between the pin and the next one, hold the wire above the pin towards the blade and touch gently with a small soldering iron. you can use some blu-tac to hold the blade in place.
