hi i use a webcam (well somene else in the house does)
is there a way to disable it, withotu uninstalling it or removign the wire connection
bascailly i dont want to be know that i ave removed it
the person in the house spends so much time in chat rooms sendign the webcam to them etc.
its tiem consuming and a waste

disable it in device manager should do it.
if not create user profile and remove from the other persons profile

ill try the first option
but if it fails how do i do the second option??

if your using ME go into control panel/system/device manger/other devices/ camera/ remove

As soon as he rebooted, it would re-install. As above, you need to disable it rather than remove it.

he was commenting on the previous post about removing it in device manager,
you want to disable it but he gave you the steps to remove it whiich is why it would re-detect it on restart, where as disabling it wouldnt
to disable: right click my com ---> properties
hardware tab ---> device manager
assuming its usb connected
universal serial bus conrollers
locate the web cam ---> right click \ disable
