I have the following set up

Mobo:Gigabyte GA-7N400-L nforce 2 ultra (with latest bios F10)
Memory: Kingston 512 ddr400 pc3200 (KVR400X64C25/512)
CPU: AMD Athlop 2800XP barton

The memory is ddr400 but will not run stable at this speed. I have updated to the latest mobo bios that support this memory but still have problems. When I set the memory to 400 in bios the system will not boot up. When it restarts the cpu fan comes on and the hdd activity ligh starts but there is no display and the keyboard leds do not light up. I then have to clear cmos to reboot.

Is there any possible cure for this without increasing the ram voltage or is there better ram to use as this is new and can be returned.

Cheers
Kaine.

When you set the memory to 400, does it also change the CPU FSB to 400 also ?

Cpu fsb does not change. The mobo bios allow you to set cpu/memory/agp independently.
