View Full Version : how do u get sb4200 to work with comcast internet?

right now i using rca. i wanted to test this modem: motorola sb4200 surfboard cable modem. try to jsut connect it up and do get activity, but it will not connect to the internet. i try to install the the usb i did and samething. is there a way toget sb4200 to work in my pc? I dl the drivers of the usb.

Is the power light on the modem flashing?

no it jsut light up
power light up and is it suppose to flash?
the only thing flashing on the modem is activity. i get green light on everything
i try on my custom 2600+ and on a sony vaio= samething happen

No, it's not supposed to. Just wanted to make sure it's working properly.

I think you may need to call their Tech Supports to give them the MAC address of the new modem.

call who tech supports? comcast or motoroals? i jsut call customer service?. iwant the rac in my room and the sb4200 in my sister room, if it possible

Whoever your ISP is. The modem maker doesn't need it. :laugh:

In your case, better use a router.

i want to use the rotuer, but i have to use wires and i go carzy. i cant dl fast or play game on router

i was wondering what happens if i buy the same comcast rca modem, can it both go online at the sametime

Nah, a good router shouldn't slow you down.

If you don't want to run wires, use 802.11g wireless networking. A little costlier than the older versions but gives you up to 54Mbps.

Forgot to tell you that 2 modems don't work simultaneously on same line.
