Im using ATIs Guide Plus+, and was firstly wondering how you save all this stuff and keep it low? Like when you find it on the net and d/l it its pretty small usually around 200 MB or so, I recorded a show one time and it was like 6gb and only bout 1 1.5 hr. And second I would like to know how people keep the commercials out? Is there any better video capturing software out there? Thanks in advance!

Capture to a nice big lossless file (like maybe how you are doing?) then encode it using two passes to XviD, DivX, RV10, etc. filtering as needed. The ads you can remove as you resize, crop, filter, etc. using AVISynth, just use trim(). You can look up where to trim using say VirtualDub.

To do what? Capture or the two pass encoding?

There is no way that you are going to get the results at 200MB's that you want by capturing straight to DivX/XviD.
