Have you checked for a firmware update? It is a new burner so it might take a little while to solve this problem.

had that idea myself but the nec webpage doesnt seem to have anything related to firmware for this burner - has anyone else had this problem? or could anyone else shed any light
Thanks anyway Jester ;)
Best bet is to go with one of Herrie's unofficial firmwares. The one for the 2500a will work on the 2510, but you have to flash it in DOS. However, I have the same drive and I'm waiting cos there will be a windows flasher released for the 2510 shortly.

NEC is well known for having issues with Ritek media. Usually a firmware update fixes this though. ;)

yet again, NEC contines to have issues with Ritek. You would think from all of the firmware updates that they could make a burner that accomodates them from the start.

Bought nec 2510a, similar problem, used datasafe go4 riteks x4, 47 minutes to burn and failed at 100%, using nero 6.
Is this a disc issue???????????????????
Or nero issue?????????????????????
Don't mind burning slower but not coasters.
Help please.
