Windows error msg

Been having a few probs with virus and spyware done lots of cleaning up and left with this msg on startup...

Cant find..

c:\windows\system32\services\exploit.exe.

anybody have any ideas please..

i take it exploit.exe was a virus set to load at bootup. therefore, assuming XP, goto start, run, msconfig, startup tab and untick exploit.exe

you could always do this the long way through the registry but this will work just as well.

thanks, this works.. only thing its always running in selective startup, would it be better to edit the reg and remove completly.


Just seen another problem. got search assistant on the taskbar and cant get rid of it permantely, come back on boot up. spybot etc aare dong clean scans.

for the registry part go to start, run, regedit. then hkeylocalmachine, software, microsoft, windows, current version, run and remove from there. also check the other run keys such as runonce, and also the same but in hkeycurrentuser.
