I had AVG (free edition) installed on my wife's second PC, and while hooking it upto my print server, I decided to run a virus scan. It found 37 viruses, yes 37. After I got done b!tching at her about this, I started wondering. I thought AVG had a real time virus scan, meaning it scanned all files before you opened them. I used norton for years, and I know it did this, and I thought AVG was supposed to as well, even the free edition. The avast question is, does the free version offer real time virus scanning or not. Long story short is, I'm going to fdisk, format, and re-install windows, as neither norton or AVG can remove all the viruses, and I'm way too lazy to remove each one individually.
