After having a Son TV, video & video camera, I've sworn never to have any more Sony products. They were all faulty out of the box. And, my mate who's a TV engineer say's they're the worst company in the world to deal with. George Micheal said that too, but that's another story.

I have Sony TV, Video Cam, Digi Cam, Amp, Speakers, and some other video/audio products. Of which none of them has given me any problems.

It is Toshiba 32ZP38 (B)- word of advice its better to just quote the model no. as opposed to a pic- easier to check :)

@ Dixons enter "pricerunner5" discount code to get a further 5% off, bringing it down to £929 - you may have to go through pricerunner's affiliate link (http://uk.pricerunner.com/sound-and-vision/vision/tv/177021/prices) to use the code (click on Dixon's "direct link" to do this)

RGB Direct (http://www.rgbdirect.co.uk/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=1601) do it for £884, pretty good company too

Reviews here (http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews5761.html)

I spent about 6 months researching before going for a Philips tv (32pw9617) about 2years ago.

my views are while sony is generally excellent you pay around 5-10% premium in the uk compared to other manufacturers for a similar spec machine.

I basically narrowed it down to Philips, Sony and Toshiba. Toshiba's are excellent tv's they generally don't go in for the fancy digital processing that philips and sony have both introduced (Philips "Pixel Plus" digitally doubles horizontal resolution and increases vertical resolution too- sony also have something similar although what they call it escapes me at the moment- UK still don't have truly high def crt tv's) which look good most of time but can work against itself in other instances (e.g. in fast moving scenes)- it also makes low bandwidth cable channels (like E4 :t_down: ) look very grainy

it just so happened i went with the philips over the toshiba because of a one off cheap deal- but toshiba's are defintely a great model for tv's (they don't put in all this additional digital imaging stuff but it is one less thing that can go wrong- and you don't need to spend time conifguring it correctly to get it working well) they also provide a component input which is very rare in other manufacturers

I have to agree somewhat. Had a really nice Sony camcorder that gave me nothing but effin problems literally day one after the warranty expired <insert conspiracy rant here>. So the operative word being 'had' in that sentence as it was utter schitt once the warranty ran out. Spent hundreds trying to get it fixed properly

Never owned a Sony tv but had a good friend purchase a 57" and he had nothing but problems with that as well. Currently have a Mitsubishi tv and it's served my family quite well for almost 10 years.

Next tv might be a Sony as they have some nice 60-65" LCD's now that I've seen on display, or a Toshiba. More than likely though, price will be the main factor overall unfortunately and Sony makes some pricey tv's these days.
