Language bar not showing. Please help!

hi,

my language bar is no longer showing. neither on the taskbar or as a seperate toolbar. i dont know how it disappeared, but when i attempted to restore it, it wouldnt show.

i got this from microsoft.com:

To Show the Language Bar

To show the Language bar (using Classic view in Control Panel):

Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Regional and Language Options.
On the Languages tab, under Text services and input languages, click Details.
Under Preferences, click Language Bar.
Select the Show the Language bar on the desktop check box
the problem is, when i click details then go to preferences; the language bar is grey i.e. i cant click it! why not???

from memory, if you only have one language installed it will not show.

just tested on XP and above seems to be true. mine is greyed out as only UK installed.

Yes you have to install a second language. Depending on what you want :)

Hmm, I only have UK installed and I can enable the language bar :confused:.
