Hi all,

My first post on this new site, hopefully the first of many.:)

Last week my new Canon A60 arrived, ordered from Amazon. I have just logged on intending to buy a 128mb card for this camera and went to the old forum for suggestions. I came across the posts relating to the free offer from Canon.

Has anyone who ordered from Amazon actually sent off and received the CF card. I just can't beleive they are making such an offer. I only paid £99.99, they're £179.99 in my local Dixons. I've downloaded the form so I guess there's nothing to lose (except my receipt). Would just be interested to know if anyone has recieved a card yet.

i sent away for mine last tuesday and no sign of it yet. waitnig on lazza posting that he has got his before assume they are coming. but you should only send a copy of your receipt away and not the original as you just never know when you might be needing it

Sent off for my card 2 weeks ago, nothing yet either. :(

From what I could tell the offer was done in conjunction with Canon UK so they should come through with it.

Cracking camera, five thumbs up!

Dave, thanks for reminding me why I turned sigs off at "the certain other forum" - 10 lines of crap for your 2 line post!

Yep superb camera Dave it really is. I still can't get over the quality of the results TBH, been into serious 35mm gear for almost 30 years so am very, very fussy and bought the A60 for snaps really and of course the ability to get pics quickly on the web. I've already decided I'm going to leave my old 35mm gear behind when I go on a break next month I'm that pleased with it and can stick it in apocket instead of lugging heavy gear around all the time.

I've given the Amazon link to a number of friends and family who are also impressed after playing around with it and they are all buying one too now! :)

So anyone who wants a quality digi camera that is as cheap as chips with options galore but as simple as a click of a button if you so wish then get one quick while they still have stock!

As you may imagine me and spending money do not mix

People say im tighter then a ducks *** which is water tight

Not long is how long and it takes "4" too. lol

I bought a Uniross 2hr charger and some NimH batteries from 7 day shop Dave, very cheap.

yeah, 7 day shop have a good deal normally on charger and some batts. Get ones with good power i.e. 2000 capacity or similar. If you leave the LCD screen off the camera is easliy good for a few hundred shots with the flash on.
It takes small vidoes with sound as well which come out pretty good, and can be readily emailed.

Thanks for the replies.

Having fully read the form it appears that you do indeed need only send a copy of the receipt. So nothing to lose.

Also, although this is my first Digi camera, I believe that downloading directly from the camera uses the camera's battery power. I've just purchased a card reader. You can pick a standard USB 1 unit up for peanuts. CF cards are not fast so there is not a huge advantage to going USB 2. However, I opted for an internal 3.5" bay, 7 in 1, USB 2 unit available from ebuyer. It comes with a USB port as well. Very useful for USB sticks or Graphics tablet users.

Well i went into jessops today and had a look at the a60 and i liked the feel of it and everything but i didnt like the size, i wanted it to take it down the pub / clubs with me but i would be a bit too big for my pocket and might be too visable and as i can wait for one i think i will have to give it a miss

if it was as big as the a300 i would of snapped it up but anyway thanks for the advice guys :)

It ain't that big Dave. :D

who says size matters, eh?

For my money, it's a nice weight and size.
Some of the sony ones are small, but you tend to lose them down the back of the furniture / in small cracks in the pavement etc ;-)

Dave2986

emailrob

Mail them the Amazon receipt m8 ;)

Jessops may price match, but there are not a lot of A60s left, Amazon seem one of the few retailers to have these

Fuji a205 has similar specs & its $75 at hsn.com or office depot dot com after $20 coupon, if you have those. Some people are getting a60's for the same price because OD has a $100 rebate on it in the usa.

steves digi cam has photos from both cameras & they look exactly the same.

Got mine as well today.

I sent off a few days after starting this thread, so it's taken just under a month. Can't complain considering I purchased the camera without even being aware of this offer.

I suspect they will all start dropping through the letter box in the next few days.

Thanks for posting the info whoever first found this offer. It's much appreciated.
