I have a Direcway Two-Way Internet system. I would like to network wireless with a laptop and desktop. The Direcway site says I need a WAP Wireless Access Point. Sorry but I'm real weak on networking. Could someone tell me what this is and offers some suggestions. Please be specific as to brands and any info you can provide.

You'll need to purchase two wireless cards. Such as a D-Link DWL-650 Wireless Cardbus Adapter (http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=9) for the laptop, and a D-Link DWL-520 PCI Adapter (http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=42) for the desktop. You'll also need a WAP or a wireless router. Whether you get a router or not should depend upon the prices and your future needs.

Also, do you have the DW4000, or DW6000 modem? The old DW4000 series modems were USB only, restricting you to using a main computer (that has to be on if you want any of the other computers to be online) and a hub/switch hooked to that. If you have the DW6000 modem, then its ethernet, and can be directly plugged into a router/wireless router if you wish.
