Weird Problem.please help!!

ok turned on the pc this morning and got the following message..."windows will load with minimum drivers,not enough memory to load registry"........i`ve got 128mb and most things are coming on but i`ve got no sound and for soime reason theres no programs in the add/remove section!tried a system restore,ad aware,spybot,avg but all to no avail Also tried loading in safe mode but the same happens.....can anyone help?

Hmmm .... sounds like your registry may have become corrupted.

What OS & System specs would help.

Also have you edited the registry or used any utilities for this recently ?

its windows me phil and relatively low specs....... i think its one of the early pentium 3 processors.128mb ram..40 g hard drive...........haven`t done anything intentionally to the registry.tried cleaning it up with system mechanic,but still the same

Is your hard drive nearly full? This can have very bad effect on windows, also have you been playing about with your pagefile / virtual memory settings?

no i`ve got 35 g left and haven`t knowingly done anything with page file or virtual memory
