Why won't this DVD copy?

I've got a film on DVDR that I want to copy. I've tried Nero, it gets to the end of making the image then dies. I tried copying all the files to my HD, it gets to the last VOB, thenan error comes up avout having run out of tape, and CloneDVD does the same. All of these are on the last few seconds of the process. Can anyone please help me??

hmmm... was the back up made with dvdxcopy by 321 studios (is there a 321 studios warning logo when you stick the dvd in a player) they made their own encryption on backups created with their software (in order to justify their product i guess), which i don't think you can remove with decrypter or any of the usual encryption removal tools

may be a silly question but

when you are running clone DVD do you run a prog called anyDVD in the background ?

Unless it is on authoring media then it can't be encrypted and therefor does not need AnyDVD. Sounds to me that it was just on crappy media and that the outer edge has become damaged.

Clean the disc and try it with DVD Decrypter. It will note any errors and retry (I think 20 times) to read it. If you have another DVD optical try it in that.

Sounds like your disk surface needs a look at. It must be perfectly shiny.
