I need some help setting up a wireless AD-HOC network.
I got a DSL modem going into a DI-604 router, going to 4 computers, all wired. One of these is my computer, and I also have a DWL-G520 wireless card in my computer. And I have a Toshiba laptop with a DWL-120+ USB wireless network adapter. I tried using the D-Link utility and I did the following:
Went to the configuration tab, and put in FroNetAlpha for the SSID, and for wireless mode, I selected Ad-hoc. I tried both Auto, and various channels, set the Tx rate for both auto, and tried various channels also. Power mode was set to continuous access mode.
I also tried with with the data encryption, and without.
I get down to the site survey, and they see each other.
But I get up to the Link info tab on either one of them, but both Link Quality, and Signal Strength are greyed out. Also says it sent some packets on both, but hasn't received any on neither of them.
I tried checking with the Windows wireless network dialog box, and it says that it has a full signal, yet still no detection on either.
I know it works, because I am picking up 4 or 5 wireless access points from my neighbors (hehe) and I can get online with those.
Any help would be appreciated.
