Hi all, i have downloaded quite a few vcd films from an ftp site in rar format.I right click on the first file and extract here using winrar and this produces an Bin and Cue file in the same directory.I have managed to make some films by loading the Cue file into nero via burn image, and the disc has burnt okay, however sometimes the Cue file loads and when i click on the burn button it takes about 1 second to reach 100% and i get the message dao not supported. What am i doing wrong and please note i have tried cdr win also, could someone please help or send me a tutorial as to how to maee vcd's from rar files, thanx in advance for any help on this subject.
cheers

Use daemon tools to load the cue file into a virtual cdrom and then use the cdcopy option in nero to copy from virtual (generic) cdrom to writer. Works for all format bi and cue files i have tried.

Personally I don't use Nero for BIN/CUE's (too unreliable). If you have Alcohol 120% installed, I would suggest that you use that.

A little proggy called bin2iso is handy for these circumstances.

Alcohol 120% is a far superior program. I would use that instead of nero as celtic_druid said.

I have the same problem, I normally burn bin/cue files just fine with nero, but I get the same error dinky gets (dao not supported).
I have tried your method duplicitous, but it didn't work, I still got the same error.
Everyone else is suggesting Alcohol 120%, but is there no way to get Nero to work?
I'm gonna try the bin2iso program and post back how it went.
thanks

Ok here is what worked/didn't work for me:
1) I tried bin2iso, the file was converted and Nero burned the iso just fine, but the disc turned out to be a coaster (it should be an SVCD).
2) I installed Alcohol 120%, and yes it worked, so I'll have to agree with the others by saying Alcohol 120% is probably a good thing to have. First I tried burning it in DAO mode (nero has this option locked for this bin), but this resulted in a coaster from Alcohol 120%. I changed the setting to TAO and it worked just fine.
Does anyone know why I cannot change DAO/TAO for certain bin/cue files when I use Nero, but I can change it in Alcohol 120%?
thanks
