Help!!! cant get lappy on to net!!!

Right guys... ive got my pc set up with a 4 port hub for my internet...which is b/band. this is running fine. Just got a cable to run down for me to use my laptop which i just got and it wont set up...tried for days now..wot am i doing wrong????

cheers m8. right i now got the lappy online..but i lost my pc connection...wot am i doing wrong? also how can i set it so i can access my h/drives on the pc and lappy etc...

this is doing my head in now.......... if i have pc on and do set up i can get online but not on lappy.... and the same with the lappy but no pc..... wot can it be...which cables do i need... patch or crossover???? cud this be the problem??

cables could be a problem. unless you are connecting direct between the PC's, which I take it as you have a hub, that you aren't, then you need straight patch. crossover is only used if the cable goes direct between the PC's.

with regards to ICS, i have no idea. I use a router which doesn't require all this nightmare you are experiencing. £35 gets you set up in 2 seconds and miles more features.
