Help error message Disk Not Formatted erorr please some help

Hi received 17 dvdrs full of data i need. But each one brings up same error message. What can i do to fix it pls help or what does it mean

Disk is not formatted
Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows

only burn a few dvdr's, well apart from movies, so not sure. are these dvdr's or dvdrw's as, and maybe wrongly here assuming, this could be the issue. if burnt using a particular udf packet writing software, you may need the software installed.

Are they dvd-ram discs, as I believe you have to format them first. Does your drive read ram discs?

im not sure if it accepts dvd ram discs. I think they are dvdrs.
my drive is only of the necs nopt sure on version. Only brought 2 months ago.
I only have nero and recordnow software installed on computer
