I can solder.
Its just I have never done one before. I have a hot air station which i use for repairing phones etc.

I was wondering if there are any good tutorials that show a step by step of what is there to be done.

I have searched this forum before i posted but couldnt really find anything.

Also My choice and which i have been recommened is the Messiah 2 pro.

There is a site called www.baldbouncer.co.uk where there are 2 types of messiah chips.

One is Messiah 2 V1.33b and the other is Messiah 2 PRO

Whats the difference?? and which one should I ideally go for ?

I also checked my PS2 version : SCPH 50003

According to http://www.richspsxparts.com/version.html
Its not even there?

Maybe their site is not updated?

What version is my PS2... Version 10 ??

You have a version 9 or 10 mate.

For these consoles I've used the Messiah 2 V1.33B from Baldbouncer himself. Works just fine.

The Messiah 2 V1.33b
Is actually the Messiah 2 Pro Version 1.33b
For versions 9 and 10
Has 24 wires that have to be installed regardless of version

The Messiah 2 Pro Version 2.0 (the latest chip)
16 Wires to install depending on your version
up to 24 if I am not mistaken for other version
(the boot nethod is slightly different also you perform a doulbe tap for dvd movies and psone like the original messiah chip if I am not mistaken)

Also Hey Spagboll good to see you its been a while

Either should work great the only real difference is the boot method and number of wires.

I have not installed a version 2 pro yet but the chip should work just fine.

"I take i have a version 9 since there is o "3d" marked where the model number is about. It just says "D""

What happens when you turn it on & select 'version' on the screen? As that reads the bios marker from the mainboard, which is the best way to know what you have.

Messiah... DUO... magic.... Matrix... DMS.... all are fine.. but magic V kinda fishy... with the booting when you don't install it correctly... DUO 2 have the least to into... Neo chip nice too... i believe all chip boots them fine... some like DMS or Matrix of that kind.. because one is upgradable throught disc.. and also play media... AVI.. etc...
