Hi guys
I'm moving house soon and I will need to put my PC in the bedroom (very small house) and since I leave it on 24 hours a day it needs to be ultra quiet (and I mean ULTRA!).

What do I need to make it quiet but not overheat?

I currently have a Nokia style case and it's the noisiest I've ever heard
I have an AMD 2100+ CPU.
It needs to be midi size case as I have 4 hard drives a DVD-RW and I use 4 (and sometimes 5) PCI slots
I am willing to upgrade the motherboard if needed

Any ideas what I need, the prices and any online shops that sell what I need?

thanks in advance for any help or suggestions

Take a look here m8:- http://www.quietpc.com/uk/

Some good advice there as well as a good range of products.

Usual things such as insulate side panels with sound deadening material, quieter PSU, quieter fan on chip or even a Zalman flower. Change case etc,,,

If you are concerned about noise when you want to sleep do what i did,go to your chemist and buy some earplugs to block out the sound, works great and saved me money on ,saved loads on upgrading my pc to make it quieter and can now leave it running all night.

That was the best tip for silencing the pc I have ever heard! Fantastic! I am going to the grocery store tomorrow for a pair of yellow earplugs! Thanx!

Maybe consider some SilenX fans / power supplies / heatsinks - they're not cheap, but are meant to be very quiet indeed. I'm getting some of their stuff for my HTPC.

I've seen a quiet PC case on Dabs (link below), it comes with a PSU, does anyone know if it's a quiet PSU or would I be better buying an ultra quiet one?
