A friend of mine needs to send an 80mb file, I know there is a better way than e-mail, but can’t remember what it is or how to set it up…anyone help?

ftp (http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1491) (could do this with an ftp client too) or an http server (http://httpd.apache.org/) would probably be my two suggestions

If you want to send it electronically then use FTP. I think you would find most ISPs would reject an email of that size even if the mailboxes are large enough.
Alternatively he could burn it to a cd & post it.

FTP, mIRC, MSN, AIM, they will all work...but FTP will be fastest.

You could always sign up for a free trial on www.streamload.com (http://www.streamload.com) but you would have to upload it to there yourself first.
There is a 100MB limit on the trial

hope you are using broadband, that would take a millenium to send on dialup.
you could try a proggy called filesharepro, i used it a while back and its quite good, turns your pc into an internet server i believe

an ftp client, or like xdeity mentions above, if he's using broadband or better good old msn messenger will do the job.
