Laptop Boot Up Problem

Hi I have a dell Studio Laptop that will not boot,when it starts up with the Dell logo and the loading bar,the bar freezes 3 quarters of the way over and then it just hangs!
Any Idea?

What Operating System ?

Also ..... have you installed/uninstalled any new software/hardware immediately prior to this hapenning ?

Can you boot into Safe Mode ? (F8) / Last Good Configuration ?

seems like hdd maybe faulty; the bar stage is analysing hardware detection is ok and when a hdd is faulty or difficult to right to this analysis can be very slow or impossible; try another hdd;

or even try removing hdd; plugging in externally to a pc and do a full format and reinstall; sometimes works if bad sectors or partitions on the drive.
