hi all, i have a pc in my bedroom networked (wired) through my router, i use bedroom pc for internet and to send downloads/films etc from main pc to view on bedroom pc simply by cutting/pasting into start..network...bedroom pc..public etc but the icon in networks for my bedroom pc has vanished! anyone know how to restore it or another way of transfering files from main to bedroom pc?

i havent touched my sharing settings but i cant access shared files to or from any pc now?

Rightclick on the Taskbar then select Properties. Under Taskbar tab click the Customize button. Click the pulldown menu for Network then choose the Behavior you want it to be (Show/Hide...).

I see. Please open Control Panel => Network and Sharing Center. Now on the left hand side pane, we'll see the option Change Advanced Sharing Settings, select it then enable Turn On Network Discovery, turn ON Media Streaming and set Media Streaming Options accordingly.

I think you mean the network icon on your desktop? Usually sits near the recycle bin or the My Computer icon right? If so say what version of Windows you're using and we'll help you to get it back.
