Hi all, i have about 15 dvd backups here that will not play in the dvd player, they also dont work in the Ps3. Now i put them in the laptop and open VNC player and they still dont work, but when i load them up on windows media player they work. Is there a way i can get them back on a dvd and working in a normal dvd player?

Can you be a bit more specific ..... i.e. what format are the files stored on the DVDs ? .... are these .vobs, ifos & bups in a VIDEO_TS folder, with an empty AUDIO_TS folder (i.e. a full playable DVD vobset) .... or ???
Have they ever worked on your DVD Player ?

Hi m8, thanks for the reply, they are all on dvd's m8 they are vobs, ifos & bups in a Video _ ts folder with an empty audio_ts folder
i guess it should be a fully playing dvd set, but for some reason only windows media player will play them!
they have never worked in a dvd player, or in the ps3

Hmmmmm. ..... it could simply be the way they have been authored,
Depending on how much time yo want to spend on it, you could try ripping the disk again (as though it's the original) and leave out any front end menus ... i.e. do Movie only and reburn to a fresh disk.
Often this will sort things out, or pick up any corruptions in the files, during the rip process.

Can you copy the contents to the desktop ? ..... if not, it could be poor media
