Some downloaded games from release groups only work off disc for some weird reason.

The last one I noticed was The Suffering(<=Great Game!), tried 3 times to recreate the iso and retransfer the iso it just wouldn't load. So then I looked on nforce and noticed there was a patchfix to make it work off the hdd. If thats the game you are talking about, search for: ins-tsfix.rar Also I think the new 007 needs a hdd patch too.

Everyonce in awhile some downloaded games need fixing, though you would think the groups would test them before releasing them.

You can also get Complex Tools. It is a program like DVD2Xbox that reads the games to your hard drive, but it seems to really patch xbe files great. I have been able to play 007e.o.n and The Suffering to work off my HD using it. You just have to configure one of those lovely XML files to get it to work right though. Of course, you could also add patch information to the 'patch data' file in DVD2Xbox and get similar results. The fixes that are out are usually just the same xbe files that have been run through one of these programs then sent out for people to d/l.

This sounds kind of lame, but what I do when I really need an xbe patched and I do not have the whole game on DVDR I usually write it (just the xbe's) to a CDRW then run it through Complex Tools. After it patches them I put them in the games' folder. It sounds newbie-ish, but it works really good. Pretty much anything will play from the HD for me now, even the dreaded NFL Fever 2K4.

If you have access to newsgroups you can just download the patched default.xbe

Hey cat, check my post above. I have the patched default.xbe for the suffering if you or anyone else wants it its only like 1.1mb

Or just look in the usual places for this file: "ins-tsfix.rar"

Sure you can use a program to patch it, but its alot more work than just simply replacing a file.

Any of you use the ADR patcher seems to work fine for most releases
